Carmen Steinert announced this Friday in the Plenary Session of the Cabildo of Lanzarote that she is resigning from her position as councilor of the First Island Institution "for strictly family reasons." Steinert appealed to the "common sense" of her colleagues in the Corporation and to the "commitment acquired with this island from the moment they were appointed councilors of the Cabildo of Lanzarote to continue bringing order and light to the modernization process that we are carrying out in the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism."
At the same time, she asked for support and backing for those who, from the Tourism Board, fight in a "complex and competitive" world so that this island competes every day on equal terms with other destinations." "For all of them, personalized in the CEO of the Centers, José Juan Lorenzo, and in the CEO of the Society for the Promotion of Foreign Affairs of Lanzarote, Héctor Fernández, my deepest respect and my greatest gratitude," Steinert pointed out.
The person in charge of the Tourism area until today said goodbye to all her colleagues in the Corporation, inviting reflection and dialogue in the decision-making process "because the island of Lanzarote will undoubtedly benefit from this."
After thanking "the support, respect and affection of the Institution's workers and colleagues from the Government group and members of the opposition," Carmen Steinert dedicated a few words to the president of the Corporation, Pedro San Ginés, stating "that he was the one who bet on me and gave me the wonderful responsibility of managing an area as important and exciting as Tourism."
