Although the panorama of agreements on the island is becoming clearer, pending the ratification of the agreements between CC and the PP for the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the City Council of Teguise, the future of Arrecife remains an unknown. In this institution, the latest offer from Coalición Canaria involves holding the Mayor's Office on a "time-sharing" basis, that is, two years for Cándido Reguera and two years for Manuel Fajardo Feo, to resolve the dispute that both forces maintain over the mayor's office of the capital.
In principle, the Partido Popular has not yet responded to this offer and is "studying" it, but the acting mayor and winner of the last elections, Cándido Reguera, has been blunt in describing this proposal as "absolute nonsense". In his opinion, this would go against the stability that Arrecife needs, and also against the balance that must be given to close an agreement between both forces.
Pending the final response from the PP, the situation of the capital's City Council remains uncertain, with only three days left until the new Corporation is formed.
Given the lack of agreement with CC, the Populars have also held conversations with the Partido Socialista, offering José Montelongo and the elected councilors of the PSOE to join the future government group. However, for the socialists, the preferred option remains an alliance with Coalición Canaria, such as the one they have already closed in San Bartolomé. Although in the case of Arrecife, they would need to add a third force, such as Alternativa Ciudadana or even the PNL, to make Manuel Fajardo Feo mayor.
