The company Carlos Tarajano S.L., based in Gran Canaria, has been awarded the tender to install a generator and volumetric descaler for fishing use in Puerto del Carmen. This was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Water of the Canary Islands Government in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands. This supply contract, which had an initial budget of almost 86,000 euros plus IGIC, has finally been awarded for 80,413 euros, plus IGIC.

Once installed, this generator will produce a total of 5 tons of ice per day and will be installed in the building for preferably fishing use in Puerto del Carmen. In the announcement in the Gazette, the Regional Ministry announces that the award took place on August 26 and, the following day, the 27th, the contract was formalized with the company.

Once this procedure has been carried out, as stated in the tender announcement of June 21, the company will now have three months to execute the installation. According to that announcement, the generator must be ready "in any case before December 31" of this year and there will be "no admission" of extension. The criteria that were assessed for the award, in addition to the economic offer, were the location in the Canary Islands of the technical service of the successful bidder, improvements in the refrigeration circuit and in the electrical circuit.
