The president of the Popular Party of Lanzarote, Astrid Pérez, took advantage of her intervention in the National Convention of the PP to highlight the "inaction of the Government of Spain with respect to the irregular immigration crisis that affects the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa."
Astrid Pérez exposed the abandonment to which the government of Sánchez has subjected both islands, which have never felt further from Madrid and more forgotten in the face of human trafficking mafias. “We are immersed in the drama of immigration and continue to suffer from the lack of human resources, material means and adequate facilities to care for the people who arrive on the island in a dignified manner,” Perez said.
“More than 500 immigrants in just 48 hours arrived in Lanzarote and La Graciosa this past weekend, and the only response from the State has been silence,” said the island president, for whom the only hope is a future government led by Pablo Casado.
In her speech, Astrid Pérez also wanted to keep in mind the residents of La Palma “to whom I want to send a very strong hug in these difficult times and to all the colleagues of the PP of La Palma of whom we are deeply proud. They are being an example for all of us, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
The Lanzarote delegation that traveled to Valencia has participated in the different tables that have been held throughout the day this Saturday at the Convention that will culminate this Sunday with a mass event.
