The Deputy Mayor and Head of the Contracting Area of the Arrecife City Council, Echedey Eugenio, and the Councilor for Education, Abigail González, visited the facilities of the CEIP Titerroy this Monday, together with representatives of the company awarded the repair works of the center's courtyard pavement, Paviquimia SL.

The objective of the visit was to coordinate the start of these improvement works, which will begin on June 23, once the school year is over, and which respond to a demand that the center had been requesting for some time.

The project consists of completely renovating the asphalt pavement of the schoolyard. First, the cracks and fissures in the ground will be repaired, and a thorough cleaning will be carried out to remove any remaining dust or debris. Then, the entire surface will be polished to make it uniform and prepared. Several layers of specific products will be applied to this pavement to improve its resistance and finish, including an acrylic resin that does not contain aggregates, which will allow the final surface to be safer and less abrasive for the boys and girls who use it daily.

The total amount of the contract amounts to 42,010.34 euros (IGIC included) and the expected execution period is two months, so the works will be carried out taking advantage of the vacation period to avoid interference with the teaching activity.

The Deputy Mayor and Head of Contracting, Echedey Eugenio, pointed out that "with these actions we not only fulfill the commitments acquired, but we also advance in the continuous improvement of our public centers. We continue to coordinate efforts from the different municipal areas so that the works, maintenance and improvements reach all the schools in Arrecife."

For her part, the Councilor for Education, Abigail González, highlighted that "from the City Council we continue working so that the educational centers of the municipality have safe and decent facilities. This intervention in the CEIP Titerroy was highly demanded by the educational community, and we are happy to finally respond to a historical need."

The councilor also highlighted that this action is part of the global strategy of the Department of Education to progressively address the maintenance, safety and accessibility needs of all educational centers in the municipality.
