The Arrecife City Council has launched this Tuesday the call for "subsidies for the acquisition of textbooks, school and computer equipment, uniforms and sportswear for families with minors residing in the municipality", with an amount of "200 euros for each student who meets the requirements".
Together with the application for aid, according to the Consistory, "it is necessary to provide invoice or invoices of the expenses incurred in school or computer equipment, uniforms or sportswear that have been purchased prior to the date of application for aid." To cover these needs, the City Council has allocated a budget of 120,000 euros.
"We are trying to alleviate as much as possible the economic sacrifice involved in starting the 2021-2022 academic year, taking into account that there are still many families who are still experiencing a very difficult situation due to the pandemic," says Councilor María Jesús Tovar, who coordinates the Minor Area.
The Arrecife City Council clarifies that students who are in the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary and Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Intermediate Grade cycles, in publicly owned centers, may apply for the aid.
Together with the application and the invoices for the expenses incurred, the City Council adds that it is also "necessary to present the responsible declaration of being able to receive subsidies, the sworn declaration on the purpose of the payment, the registration with third parties, ID of the student and the family unit of coexistence, Family Book, Certificate of Enrollment and proof of economic income of the family unit, either through the IRPF declaration, the pension received or the quarterly settlement of the IRPF of 2020".
The Councilor for Minors reminds interested persons that they can go to register the documentation in the dependencies that "by area of residence correspond to them in the different Social Work Units (UTS)". These are the North UTS, located on Chupadero street, corner of La Geria de Maneje for residents in this neighborhood and Argana and Altavista; the South UTS, located in the Town Hall, for those of Casco and Valterra, and finally the Central UTS, behind the Red Cross, on Dr. Juan Negrín street, for La Concha, El Cable, Titerroy, San Francisco Javier, Los Alonso, Tenorio, La Vega and Salinas"
