The Arrecife City Council has restarted the comprehensive cleaning campaign 'Neighborhood to Neighborhood' with a greater presence of machinery and personnel from the company holding the municipal cleaning service concession.
From the early hours of Monday, February 1, the streets of the Argana Baja neighborhood have been washed and cleaned "from end to end." To achieve a comprehensive cleaning, the Department of Cleaning placed numerous safety barriers during the past weekend to prevent the parking of vehicles on those streets and enable the deployment of sweeping machines and tank trucks with disinfectant water for this shock cleaning.
This initiative was launched in the fall of 2019 and, according to the City Council, it has achieved a greater presence of the Cleaning Area staff in all neighborhoods of Arrecife. This comprehensive campaign was also carried out during 2020, and now it has been restarted neighborhood by neighborhood.

The Councilor for Cleaning, Roberto Herbón, states that new phases of this campaign will continue to be carried out throughout all the neighborhoods of Arrecife. Thus, it is stated that in addition to their daily tasks, the workers of the concessionary company will focus each day on a "comprehensive and thorough intervention" of the streets, to ensure that Arrecife is a "much cleaner" capital.
Likewise, the City Council points out that many residents have sent messages to the mayor, Ástrid Pérez, and the councilor, Roberto Herbón, through social networks, with "suggestions for greater depth in the tasks of washing and cleaning all the streets of the municipality."
