The Department of Citizen Participation of the Arrecife City Council will carry out the "Collective Spaces" project, an initiative that will be developed in the Civic Center on July 24 with the aim of allowing residents to feel close to the institution through participation processes aimed at improving the municipality.

The meeting will be attended by the mayor of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, and the councilor for Citizen Participation, Elisabeth Merino, as well as social agents and representatives of associations, groups and entities from the neighborhoods of Los Alonso, Valterra and Puerto Naos.

One of the great pillars of the project is to promote a participatory culture among the population, in order to develop lines of work that end up becoming proposals to the council. The idea is to transfer this initiative to all the neighborhoods of the capital, which will improve the participation rate in each of them.

Attendees will be able to enjoy, from 9:45 a.m., workshops and presentations on participation instruments that have been launched on other islands. For this, Prisco Navarro Melián, councilor delegate of the Citizen Participation area of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, and Elisa Ramírez Yánez, head of the Technical Unit of Citizen Participation and relations with the citizens of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, will be present.

Participants can register or get more information through the website www.arrecife.es or by calling 677 104 924.
