The Arrecife City Council has formalized a new contract that will guarantee the operation and maintenance of public lighting and publicly owned facilities.
“The residents of Arrecife will now have an easier time reporting breakdowns in public lighting, and this will speed up the time it takes to correct these deficiencies,” says the mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez.
This new contract has been awarded to the company Acuña Técnicos Eléctricos (ACUTEC) for an amount of 640,000 euros without IGIC, and a duration of two years, with the option of extending it for another two.
“In this way we solve the problem we had, since until the formalization of this contract we only had a driver, a manager and three officers, while now we have 8 electricians assigned to the maintenance of public lighting,” says the Councilor for Works, Roberto Herbón.
“This contract fulfills one of the commitments we had with Arrecife, since the third capital of the Canary Islands could not bear the maintenance of public lighting being in the hands of so few personnel,” adds the mayor, who emphasizes the work carried out by the City Council in the last three years “to formalize this contract.”
24-hour citizen service
This new contract includes the possibility for Arrecife residents to report breakdowns or deficiencies in the capital's public lighting.
To do this, residents can call at any time the Arrecife Local Police telephone number, 928 81 13 17, and the municipal body will collect the incident and contact the company.
Once the breakdown has been reported, the company will have a maximum time of 2 hours to respond and begin the procedures to correct the breakdown and, once the work is finished, the company will issue a detailed report of what has been done.
“In this way, citizens will be participants in the city's lighting problems, and thanks to their notifications, from the Arrecife City Council we will be able to act quickly to solve the problem,” concludes the mayor, Astrid Pérez.
