The Arrecife City Council has confirmed that the House of Culture will finally open its doors this Thursday and has done so "at the last minute", with just over 24 hours to go before the event. The inauguration had to be canceled last week because the Center had not obtained the opening license and then announced that it would be moved to the following Thursday. However, on Wednesday morning the call had not yet been sent because "one last step" was missing, as confirmed to La Voz from the Consistory.
"We were talking to a technician this morning and he told us that the Industry certificate was not there, which I don't know if it was for the fire extinguishers or the elevator, but it wasn't there, and that was being worked on," they had pointed out for their part from the PP, who denounced last week, a few hours before its inauguration, that the House of Culture lacked an opening license.
Finally, after 5:30 p.m. this Wednesday, the City Council has once again called the inauguration ceremony, which will be held at 9:00 p.m. this Thursday in the José Ramírez Cerdá Park, where the multidisciplinary artist Luis Tabuenca will perform.
According to what they have explained from the Consistory, the attendance of the mayor of Arrecife, Eva de Anta, the Councilor for Culture, Rafael Juan González, the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, and the Minister of Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands, Isaac Castellano, is planned. After the speeches of the authorities, the doors of the House of Culture will be opened to the public to visit the different rooms.
