The Arrecife City Council is launching a new modernization project in the municipal sports facilities. The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, reports that the Argana Alta Municipal Football Field will debut at the end of this year with a new visor marquee to protect attendees from solar insolation.
The Consistory, through the Department of Sports, led by Councilor Eli Merino, has awarded the installation of this marquee in the stands area of the Argana Football Field. The award is close to 205,000 euros, including the IGIG. The company Tiroglass Carpintería y Cristalería has been awarded these new works, which are included in the plan to modernize sports facilities in the neighborhoods.
At the end of last year, the Department of Sports put out to tender the construction of this marquee within the plan launched during this term to renovate and improve sports equipment in the neighborhoods. The Arrecife City Council allocated an investment of 244,734.94 euros for these works. Companies had until January 20, 2025 to submit their economic and technical proposals.
The Councilor for Sports, Eli Merino, has detailed that "this sports work in Argana Alta will join other improvements that are underway in several neighborhoods of Arrecife, such as in Altavista, Valterra, Titerroy or San Francisco Javier, in addition to Argana." The Arrecife City Council has had the financing of the Department of Public Works of the Island Council, led by Councilor Jacobo Medina.
Yonathan de León, accompanied by the Councilor for Public Works, Jacobo Medina, and the Councilor for Sports, Eli Merino, have announced this new award in the same facilities of the field.
For the Councilor for Public Works, Jacobo Medina, "launching improvements on the island with the collaboration and cooperation between institutions makes it possible for citizens to have better public facilities, also, in this neighborhood of Argana Alta, the nucleus with the largest population on the Island".
Work in the neighborhoods
To the recent premieres of two multipurpose courts in the neighborhood of Titetroy, are added the new investments in municipal sports facilities in the neighborhoods of San Francisco Javier, Argana Alta and Las Salinas, which are already underway, along with the construction of a visor in the Football Field of Puerto del Arrecife, located between the neighborhoods of Altavista, Valterra and Titerroy.
