The Arrecife City Council has awarded the second phase of asphalting works on 40 streets in different neighborhoods of the capital. These actions, which are included in the 2015 Asphalt Plan, will cost 864,300 euros and will begin in a month.
According to the City Council, four companies have participated in the public tender that has been called. Finally, the works have been awarded to the companies UTE Alquifer and Fipagra S.L. The works must be completed by the end of this year.
The mayor of Arrecife, José Montelongo, has stated that these works aim to "improve public roads to make Arrecife an accessible space." "In 2015, the City Council will invest more than three million euros in works aimed at improving roads, rainwater drainage and sanitation, lighting, accessibility and elimination of architectural barriers, among other works for the adaptation of the urban environment," he added.
For his part, the first deputy mayor, Rafael Juan González, has stressed that "for this government group it is a priority to respond to the most immediate demands of citizens." "We are giving continuity to a work that we started in the last legislature, during which more than a hundred streets were paved. With this new phase we are going to continue improving Arrecife so that all our neighbors, wherever they reside, can enjoy the same services and the same infrastructures," he concluded.
The streets on which the works will be carried out are Alfonso XIII, Felipe II, Fernando el Católico, Toledo, Temisa, Muyay, León Felipe, Campoamor, Isas, Saltona, Aires de Lima, Claudio Toledo Cabrera, Santiago Alemán, Leopoldo Díaz Suárez, Sabin Berthelot, Torriani, Isleño, Valbanera, Pardela, Tegala, Tegaso, Tindaya, El Rafael, Pamplona, El Vicente, Navarra, Tilama, La Joaquina, La Fermina, Tebete, Tenique, Ciudad Real, Madrid, El Antonio, José Pereyra Galviaty, Jerez, Ángel Ganivet, Cuenca, José Antonio, Coronel Bens, Tenerife, Alcalde Ginés de la Hoz, Cuba, Laguna, Chile, Gómez Ulla, Rotonda de la Escuela de Pesca, Calle Chile and the access to C.E.O Argana.
