The extraordinary plenary session of the Arrecife City Council, held last Friday, has approved a credit modification of 602,270 euros. This modification will allow to face pending invoices from different suppliers, which will mean an important boost in municipal management.
In addition, about 98,000 euros will be allocated to telecommunications services; 15,000 euros to complement the items for Christmas festivities and cultural and sports activities and 30,000 euros as a subsidy to the TEA, among other payments.
The mayor of Arrecife, Eva de Anta, has expressed her satisfaction after the plenary session. "The city council has gone through very difficult times but, with a lot of effort, it is recovering normality. This credit modification will mean a significant decrease in the pending invoices to the institution's suppliers," she said.
De Anta has reiterated her gratitude to the staff of the economic area of the consistory, who carry out a rigorous and transparent work. "For a long time the Consistory lacked economic rigor. Now our goal is to start the year with the least possible debt and that the payment terms are reduced" said the mayor at the same time that she wanted to positively assess the support received by the rest of the groups.
"I am grateful and satisfied for the support received from the rest of the groups in the plenary session. I think we send a hopeful signal to the people when we set aside our differences because the issue requires it. Criticism, debate or contradictory proposals always have their time and place, but they must also leave room for consensus on issues such as those approved today," she concluded.
