The Department of Social Welfare of the Arrecife City Council has approved the granting of municipal subsidies for Social Action corresponding to the 2025 fiscal year, allocating a total of 459,381.85 euros to projects developed by social entities in the municipality. These grants are awarded through a competitive process and reinforce the Area's commitment to guaranteeing all essential services.

The grants have been processed through a competitive bidding procedure and the objective is to support initiatives by non-profit organizations working in areas such as care for the dependent, disability, childhood, mental health, the elderly, or the fight against social exclusion.

The definitive concession proposal, submitted this Friday to the Local Government Board after the technical commission's report and the resolution of objections, includes the financing of projects that have proven their viability, social impact, and compliance with all requirements established in current regulations. The total amount approved is 459,381.85 euros, an investment that will allow for the maintenance and reinforcement of essential services for numerous families in Arrecife.

Among the beneficiary entities are benchmark associations in Arrecife's social fabric, such as Flora Acoge, ADISLAN, ALANEM, SUMAS, Pequeño Valiente, the Association of Alzheimer's Families, AFOL, Tinguafaya, La Vida es Zuaina, Afibrolan, and ECCA, among others. Their projects range from social promotion and personal autonomy programs to support services for caregiver families, care for minors with special needs, accompaniment for oncohematological patients, intervention with people suffering from fibromyalgia, and community inclusion initiatives

The Councilor for Social Welfare, Maite Corujo, emphasizes that "these grants are a key tool to reach where the administration, on its own, cannot reach, supporting the daily work of associations and groups that sustain indispensable support networks in Arrecife".

“Every euro invested in Social Action directly benefits those most in need and allows us to strengthen care for dependency, disability, mental health, or support for families going through difficult situations,” adds the municipal official.Corujo also highlights "the permanent coordination between municipal social services and associative movements, which allows for better identification of needs, the design of more effective projects, and ensures that aid is delivered quickly and transparently." The councilwoman thanks "the involvement and effort of all beneficiary entities and the technical staff of the City Council."
