Ángel Domínguez has stated that he will not leave the spokesperson position of the Canarian Coalition in the Yaiza City Council, despite the councilor Emilio Machín requesting it this Monday. In response to the request made to him, Domínguez stated this Tuesday on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero that "the decision has to be unanimous and from the four councilors" who form the political group.

"In politics, one can always expect all that and more," Domínguez acknowledged to the radio, not very surprised by the request for him to leave his position. "When the legislature began, I was the candidate and the one designated as spokesperson. And now because he is proposed to be the next candidate... I don't quite understand that change," he added.

The division in the ranks of CC in the southern municipality has been known for some time when there was an attempted motion of censure against the current mayor, Óscar Noda, which was not supported by Ángel Domínguez, among others. "When things start to be done wrong from the first moment the process of electing candidates is done, there are consequences," Domínguez criticized. "But of course, it seems legitimate to me that he is preparing his campaign," he added.

The party spokesperson and Deputy Mayor of the Council recognizes that "it is a shame" that the four councilors have not met to discuss this issue. It would have been logical to meet. Furthermore, in the months that remain, we have to be focused on solving the problems of the residents. And then we worry about the campaign issues that have to be carried out," Domínguez pointed out.

Regarding his future in politics, Domínguez stated that "I am not worried about not being on any list. If I am not, life goes on. Those who come will try to do as well or better than I have done. That is how the life of politics works. But we cannot do things by running over those who are already there," the spokesperson concluded.
