The Local Group of the PSOE of Arrecife held its Extraordinary Assembly this Thursday, April 11, in which José Alfredo Mendoza Camacho was re-elected as general secretary of the local organization, with the majority support of the members.
Mendoza led a consensus candidacy that reinforces the PSOE's commitment to the future of Arrecife and with the conviction that the party is the instrument that the capital needs to move towards a more just, inclusive and sustainable city model.
“When the PSOE governs, Arrecife advances, and I am convinced that we will do it again,” said the re-elected general secretary, who thanked his colleagues for the support received and highlighted the work carried out during these years to strengthen the socialist project in the capital.
“The mandate of the citizens of Arrecife was clear: that the PSOE should govern. And we assume that responsibility with the determination to live up to it, to continue building a modern, participatory city project focused on people,” added Mendoza, who faces this new mandate with “enthusiasm, responsibility and collective commitment.”
Together with Alfredo Mendoza, the new Local Executive Commission, elected by 86.36%, is made up of a renewed team that combines experience, youth and diversity, and that will work in a coordinated manner to respond to the challenges of Arrecife:

María Dolores Corujo, general secretary of the PSOE of Lanzarote, celebrated the renewal of the local leadership with words of support for the new team:

For her part, Nira Fierro, secretary of Organization of the PSOE of the Canary Islands, also congratulated the re-elected general secretary: “The members have once again placed their trust in Alfredo Mendoza because he represents the collective project of the PSOE: close, transformative and with a clear vision of the future. Arrecife needs progressive leadership, and this team is a guarantee that we will continue advancing towards a city with more quality of life and more opportunities for its people.”
