The AETUR business association for tourism entrepreneurs is outraged by the circumstances of the Iberia strike scheduled for this Sunday. Through a press release, the group of entrepreneurs conveys to public opinion its "outrage at the fact that the Guacimeta airport has become the Sword of Damocles that hangs threateningly and permanently over the tourism sector."
"Until now, all the socio-labor conflicts that have focused on destabilizing normal airport operations have caused passengers to be diverted from tour operators, but also from retail agencies that do not recommend the destination in order to avoid inconveniencing their clients."
Therefore, "the Federation wants to denounce a union strategy that puts the supposed interests of a labor collective before those of all of us who, in one way or another, live from tourism in Lanzarote. This is a blackmail strategy that rules out other types of processes or pressure initiatives, except that on this occasion, Lanzarote lacks the capacity to absorb direct damage in tourist influx and loss of image. The destination pays the consequences and that should have nothing to do with a partial conflict of a handling service."
