The 18 workers of Volconsa, a company that performs the conservation, maintenance, cleaning and concierge service of the municipal facilities of Arrecife, still have not received their May salary, but, in addition, Alternativa Ciudadana has denounced that both from the Secretariat and from Intervention it has been warned that the company is carrying out the work "without any type of contract".

The contract to the company Volconsa was awarded by the Arrecife City Council in December 2007 for a period of two years, which was extended for another two, "the maximum legal allowed", according to Alternativa Ciudadana, which assures that on December 5, 2011 and by decree of the Mayor "it was agreed that this service should continue to be provided, as soon as a new contract was awarded".

"To date, the company has been charging through extrajudicial recognitions of credit. This act is being carried out with reports from the secretary and intervention, where it is recognized that the administrative procedure is being breached, since it is being carried out without any type of contract", Alternativa Ciudadana has warned.

The formation has recalled that on October 1, 2012, the councilor Francisca Toledo pointed out in a plenary session that the "next contract was in Contracting" and said that she believed that it could materialize "before November". "We have been nine months and the councilor has been unable to draft and put out to public tender a new contract", AC has lamented.

This service, therefore, has been "carried out irregularly for a year and a half". "It is the workers who, today, are suffering and feeling harmed by an ineptitude, if not clumsiness, of Paca Toledo", the formation has pointed out, which wanted to show solidarity with the workers for not having yet collected the month of May.

In addition, he has reminded the councilor "that every worker has the right to be paid for their work". "The doubt that arises is knowing if the councilor charged for what is supposed to be her work", he questioned.
