The Department of Employment of the Arrecife City Council, led by Maciot Cabrera, will participate this Thursday, May 15, with its own stand, in the JOB DATING Employment Fair, the largest event of its kind held in the capital of Lanzarote. The event will take place at the Open Mall Shopping Center, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and will bring together more than fifty companies from different sectors in search of local talent.
Organized by the GEHOCAN Association (Association of Management and Human Resources Management of Hotel, Extra-Hotel and Other Sectors of the Canary Islands), the Open Mall and the Arrecife City Council, the fair was created with the aim of generating a meeting space between companies looking for personnel and people actively seeking employment, thus boosting the labor market not only in the capital but throughout the island.
The press conference for the presentation, held this Tuesday, May 13 at the same shopping center, was attended by the Councilor for Employment of the Arrecife City Council, Maciot Cabrera; the vice president of GEHOCAN, David Ayala; the manager of the Open Mall, Santiago Arzola; and the Minister of Employment of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Jesús Machín.
Maciot Cabrera, Councilor for Employment of Arrecife, stated that "it is an important event for Arrecife, the result of a necessary public-private collaboration. I especially appreciate the commitment of GEHOCAN, the Gran Hotel and the Open Mall, which has become a nerve center for this type of initiative." Cabrera encouraged citizens to attend and participate, recalling that "more than 50 companies are looking for personnel and this type of real meeting between companies and people reinforces the decent and quality employment that we want for our city."
In the same vein, the Minister of Employment of the Cabildo, highlighted that "it is a very good initiative to bring together companies that are looking for workers with people who are looking for employment. It is beneficial for both parties and a very important initiative to lower the unemployment rate."
For his part, Santiago Arzola, manager of the Open Mall, thanked "the institutional support that has made the fair possible" and valued the work of GEHOCAN as the organizer of the event.
David Ayala, vice president of GEHOCAN, also spoke, explaining that "the labor market has changed, and companies must adapt if they want to attract and retain talent. This fair is a useful tool for this, and will have the presence of companies from all economic areas."
