A caravan of cars made up of just over 200 people, including members, supporters and public and organic officials of the Popular Party, toured the towns of Lanzarote on Sunday creating what the populars called a "Blue Tide". It was one of the campaign events for the European elections and the objective was to transmit a message to the people of Lanzarote: "We can get out of the crisis and the PP knows how to do it, because it has the solutions".

The president of the Lanzarote populars, Astrid Pérez, positively valued the participation in the march. "During these days the populars have found many people wanting to vote because many of them feel disillusioned and want a change," Pérez said in connection with the march.

On the other hand, the president of the PP on the island criticized Zapatero for "the constant manipulation he makes of reality" and for not having "awareness of what he has to do for his country". And it is that, in Pérez's opinion, "despite the fact that Zapatero has plunged us into the worst crisis in history, he does not take measures". "The PSOE", the president also pointed out, "does not want to talk about the problems of citizens, but we do". "The Popular Party offers proposals and solutions in the face of the insults, lies and absurdities of the Socialist Party," she concluded.

Regarding Spain's position in Europe, the PP criticized that "since the last European elections in 2004, Spain has gone from being in the heart of Europe to the tail, mainly due to the destruction of employment". "Today, there are more than four million unemployed people, almost one million families with all their members unemployed and 400 small and medium-sized companies close every day," they clarified. "These, and not others," said Astrid Pérez, "are the consequences of the terrible management of the PSOE."

New Generations of the PP in the European elections

On the other hand, the Lanzarote residents Francisco Aparicio and Saray Rodríguez are actively participating in the national campaign that New Generations is developing under the slogan "Europe is with you". The young people of the Popular Party accompany the candidates to the European Parliament throughout the Spanish geography, transferring the party's proposals for the electoral event on June 7.

According to the island president of NNGG of Lanzarote, Cristina Marrero, the objective of this initiative is to get the message of the Popular Party especially to the youngest, a sector of the population that, in Marrero's opinion, "demands more opportunities and that, at this time, has a truly discouraging outlook ahead of it". From NNGG it is recalled that the unemployment figure for Spanish youth is the highest in all of Europe, already reaching 35 percent, with more than one and a half million young unemployed, and it is insisted that "the time for solutions has arrived".

Since May 22, the two young people from Lanzarote have toured different Spanish provinces, including Ciudad Real, Alicante, Málaga or Albacete.
