Maritime Rescue has rescued this Wednesday two boats near the coasts of Lanzarote, as reported by the Security and Emergency Consortium.
In the first boat, rescued at dawn, 34 people were traveling, including six women and two minors, all in good health. The occupants of the boat have been transferred to Puerto Naos where, around 2.20 am, they have been attended by the Red Cross volunteers and have confirmed that there has been no transfer to a hospital center.
In addition, a second boat has been intercepted 28 nautical miles from Lanzarote, in which 38 people are traveling, of sub-Saharan and Maghreb origin, as pointed out by the Emergency Consortium. The occupants are being transferred to Puerto Naos, where they have arrived around 11.26 am.
With the two rescues carried out this Wednesday, there would be four boats that have arrived in Lanzarote this week. This has meant a significant decrease in the number of arrivals compared to last week, with a total of around 178 people this week.
