Two boats rescued near the coast of Lanzarote in the early morning

66 men, all of Maghrebi origin, were traveling in the boats

Maritime Rescue has rescued two new boats near Lanzarote in the early hours of this Tuesday, October 10, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.

The first boat was intercepted at around three in the morning 2.4 miles southwest of Lanzarote. There were 6 migrants of Maghrebi origin traveling in it and in apparent good health.

An hour and a half later, another boat was rescued 22 miles northeast of the island with 60 people on board, all men of Maghrebi origin and in apparent good health.

All the occupants of the barges have been transferred to Puerto Naos where they have been treated by the Red Cross. 2 transfers have been made to health centers for different pathologies.
