Titerroy residents report that there are palm trees that are "getting in" and "damaging" their homes

The Titerroy Neighborhood Association has contacted the City Council to report that there are "roots and leaves of palm trees" that are "getting into" homes, causing damage in some cases.

In a letter, the group explains that a neighbor has contacted them stating that the roots of the palm trees located in the gardens of Luis de Guadarfía street, corner with S.S. Juan XXIII street "are damaging the pipes of said house".

Likewise, he affirms that the affected neighbors also denounce that there is a "manhole that is broken" and that "is a nest of cockroaches".

On the other hand, he reports that in Juan Ramón Jiménez street, there is a neighbor for whom "it is difficult to open his window to ventilate his house due to the state of the leaves of the palm trees". "If he opens said window, the house is filled with bugs from the palm tree," he adds.

The Titerroy Neighborhood Association insists that the maintenance and conservation of public services "is the obligation" of the City Council and demands that the mayor of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, give "the appropriate orders to find a solution to the aforementioned".
