Tinajo, Blanca (Murcia), Cazorla (Jaén), Chinchón (Madrid), El Robledo (Ciudad Real), Esterri d’Àneu (Lleida), Graus (Huesca), Nieva de Cameros and Montemediano (La Rioja), Sineu (Baleares) and Tiedra (Valladolid) compete from this Friday to become the Capital of Rural Tourism.
The EscapadaRural.com reservation platform, which organizes this contest, has announced this Friday the list of the ten finalist towns that participate in this contest that will be chosen by popular vote and whose winner will be announced on May 12.
From EscapadaRural they have explained in a statement that the objective of this initiative, which is already six years old, is to give "visibility" through a dissemination campaign in media, social networks and other channels to those municipalities that bet on a "sustainable rural tourism development".
On the other hand, and based on this visibility campaign, each finalist municipality has an assigned blogger who will act as ambassador of the destination and promote the vote.
The contest has had "high" participation figures, they have assured from the platform, since they have registered more than 200 entries from municipalities.
In the past edition of 2021 the chosen one was the town of Olvera in Cadiz.
In other editions the winners have been Potes and Santillana del Mar (Cantabria), Aínsa-Sobrarbe (Huesca) and Sigüenza (Guadalajara).
