To celebrate International Women's Day, next March 8, the San Bartolomé City Council and the Tiemar Rural Women's Association have organized the first edition of the "Move for Equality" race. The activity is part of the program of events that the association organizes on the occasion of this date.

"The race is the result of intense work in which not only the association's team has been involved, but also other social entities and volunteers who participated in the Volunteering and Gender Perspective course organized by Tiemar, in collaboration with Fundación la ECCA, last October", they point out from Tiemar.

This initiative, they point out, "combines the sporting character with the awareness and visibility of the role of women in society." Tiemar wants to "commemorate such a significant date by providing an open space for all people, regardless of their physical condition or age."

The race will have a distance of 3 kilometers and will run along Playa Honda Avenue, with the Guacimeta esplanade as the starting and finishing point. Places are limited and registration is completely free through the email [email protected] or the association's website

Tiemar's program of activities begins with the distribution of bib numbers from 9:30 a.m., will continue with musical entertainment by Aitor Dj and will end with the awards ceremony and a fun zumba session taught by Zumba Lanzarote Fitness.
