The Tías City Council has launched the School Health service in the municipality's centers, which aims to promote healthy habits in the educational environment.
Laura Callero, Councilor for Health, has indicated that "the work team that coordinates the service is already meeting with those responsible for the educational centers to provide a timely response to the needs of each center."
In this way, a nurse will give talks and workshops, starting next October, following a plan that foresees their realization on Mondays at the CEIP Alcalde Rafael Cedrés, on Tuesdays at the IES Puerto del Carmen, on Wednesdays at the CEIP Concepción Rodríguez Artiles and La Asomada-Mácher; and on Fridays, at the IES Tías.
Each of these centers will have a different program, according to their demands and needs, which are being confirmed throughout this month of September.
This resource has been promoted and financed by the Nursing Association of Lanzarote and the Island Council, in collaboration with the Medical and Nursing Directorate of the Canary Health Service (SCS), the health centers of Tías and Puerto del Carmen, as well as with the deputy directors of the different school spaces, and will be developed during the current school year, from this month of September 2022 to June 2023.
