Tías experienced its big day this Tuesday on the occasion of the festival of Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria. Numerous neighbors accompanied their patron saint in the procession through the streets of the interior of the town, next to the church and the Plaza de La Candelaria.
In addition to the neighbors, numerous island authorities were also present, such as the mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández, and the deputy mayor, Amado Vizcaíno, among other members of the municipal government group, as well as other public officials from the island and the Minister of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, María Teresa Lorenzo, among others.
The procession of the Virgen de la Candelaria was also accompanied by the "La Candelaria" Choir, the Cultural Artistic Association of Tías, Acuarti and the Gaida folklore group.
XII Meeting of Timples La Candelaria and San Blas
This Wednesday the town celebrates the festival of San Blas, also with a mass and a procession. On the other hand, and as a final touch to these patron saint festivities of Tías, at 8:00 p.m. the Municipal Theater will host the XII Meeting of Timples La Candelaria and San Blas, with performances by José Vicente Pérez and the show "Timplefonía". Admission is free.
