The City Council of Tías and the Mararía Association have signed a new collaboration agreement for the implementation of a comprehensive care program for women in the municipality of Tías. This initiative will allow the hiring of three professionals in the area of psychology, orientation and project coordination. The service will be aimed at women with specific problems who reside in Tías.
For this, the City Council of Tías will grant a direct aid, in a single payment, of 8,000 euros, to cover the cost of hiring these professionals. This agreement has been channeled through the Department of Social Welfare of the City Council of Tías, under the coordination of the Deputy Mayor, Jerónimo Robayna.
The signing of the agreement was attended by the mayor, Pancho Hernández; the deputy mayor, Jerónimo Robayna, and on behalf of Mararía, its president, Nieves Rosa Hernández. The validity of this agreement will remain until January 31 of next year 2014.
This project arises from the need to offer a comprehensive advisory service, which complements and works in a coordinated manner with municipal social services, providing specialized information on specific problems faced by today's women. The fundamental objective would be to increase the employability of women with special difficulties and at risk of exclusion, facilitating their empowerment through their labor insertion and their active social and cultural participation.
