Urban art and new musical expressions took over the Real de Arrecife street this weekend during the first Real Festival Street in the capital, which brought together hundreds of young people around the Cabildo Viejo in a festival where rap, breakdancing, graffiti contests, role-playing games and tattoos, as well as live music by the musical group Lanzarote Got Talent, were the main protagonists.
With Nivi, one of the singers of Lanzarote Got Talent as master of ceremonies, this festival was developed, which attracted many young lovers of urban art and new musical expressions, such as rap or breakdance.
Thus, numerous young people exhibited their knowledge of Hip Hop culture. In this sense, apart from the breakdance contest, where young people defied gravity with improvised turns, there was also a battle of microphones, Street Dance Battle, role-playing games, graffiti contest and even a skate battle. In addition, there was an exhibition of tattoo making and a surprising body piercing.
In this way, from six in the afternoon until eleven at night, the Real Festival Street 2011 was held, where 3rd Combo, the Fashion School dance group, and Dj Blaky also performed.
Councilman Joel Delgado has expressed his satisfaction with the development of this festival organized by the Arrecife City Council. "We want to offer the youngest in the municipality activities with which to spend free time in a healthy way and doing what they like the most," he says.
Joel Delgado has encouraged all the young people of the capital to collaborate with the Department by presenting alternative proposals for activities, with the aim of "continuing to revitalize the city so that Arrecife is a living and participatory municipality every day of the year."
