Eloína has been running a lottery administration in Haría with her brother for years, but this Tuesday she has distributed the biggest prize. Or at least, the one that concentrates the most illusions: the Christmas Lottery Jackpot.
“It is a great joy. On a personal level because it has been distributed here, but a joy for everyone in Haría. You think it will never happen, until it happens,” she said shortly after hearing the children of San Idelfonso sing one of the numbers that came out of her administration.

The Jackpot, 72897, has been distributed in 22 administrations in various communities in Spain and only one ticket has been sold in this one, but it represents 400,000 euros for the winner. And according to Eloína, it is a family from the island.
“In such a small municipality, on an island lost in the Atlantic, you think it will never happen to you,” she insists, still unable to believe that the name of Haría and that of her administration will appear throughout Spain for this 'pinch' of the most anticipated draw of the year.
In addition, she also hopes that it will be a boost, because the consequences of the crisis have also reached this sector. “Sales have dropped a lot,” she comments.
In her case, she had already distributed other prizes before, including one four years ago in the Christmas Lottery, but then it was the fifth prize. “The Jackpot never,” she emphasizes satisfied, while some neighbors are approaching her establishment to ask, and the small store is also filling with journalists, photographers and television cameras.
