The gale that the island of Lanzarote has been suffering since Thursday afternoon is registering maximum wind gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour. This was reported by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) through the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium.
Specifically, the island is on yellow alert for strong winds until 5:00 p.m. this Friday, which will decrease from that moment with maximums of between 50 and 60 kilometers per hour.
The most affected areas are those in the eastern part of the island, from Órzola to Arrecife.
Regarding rainfall, the Atlantic storm Karlotta is located in the British Isles at the moment, so the rain will reach the Canary Islands in a weakened form.
However, the models indicate that from the second half of the day, from 6:00 p.m. according to one model and from 9:00 p.m. according to another model and until dawn, there may be light rainfall throughout the island.
According to this forecast, the rainfall may go from light to moderate in the northern area of the island, in the municipality of Haría and on the island of La Graciosa.
