Lanzarote has completed its second day on pre-alert for high temperatures this Wednesday, although so far the thermometers have not reached the announced forecasts. In addition, the thermal sensation has been dampened by the strong wind, which is what is marking the meteorological situation.

Both Tuesday and Wednesday, in almost all the municipalities of the island the wind has blown with an intensity of between 40 and 50 kilometers per hour, and both days have been recorded gusts above 70 kilometers per hour. Specifically, at the airport station, 71 were reached.

Regarding temperatures, the Aemet stations place the highest also in the airport area, with 32 degrees at noon this Wednesday, and in Playa Blanca, with 31. In any case, the figure is slightly below the forecasts, which indicated that it could reach 34 degrees, which activated the yellow warning.

In addition, in other municipalities of the island, such as Haría and Tinajo, it has not even reached 26 degrees, according to Aemet data.

As for the next few days, this Thursday the yellow warning will continue to be activated, with a very similar forecast of both wind and temperatures. However, the weekend could get worse.

For Saturday, Aemet expects thermometers to reach 35 degrees in Lanzarote but, above all, announces a significant decrease in wind intensity.

On that day, it expects it to have a speed of between 10 and 20 kilometers per hour, and on Sunday only 5 kilometers per hour. For that day, the forecast is that the temperature will be 34 degrees, which without wind would increase the thermal sensation.
