The Titerroy Neighborhood Association will have Ismael Montero as president for two more years

Ismael Montero will continue for two more years as head of the Titerroy Neighborhood Association. On July 1st, elections were called for the presidency, where no other alternative was presented. On the same day that Montero called the elections, he announced that it would be the last time he would run, so "these two years will be the last," he assured.

For the next two years, Ismael Montero will lead "with more enthusiasm than ever," he said after his appointment, "so that the residents of the neighborhood have a better quality of life. His priorities will range from "demanding that the Titerroy Health Center provide 24-hour care, the construction of a socio-cultural center in the neighborhood, to the removal of the two illegal mobile phone antennas, as there is documentation from the city council that corroborates this." Montero added that "the cleaning and maintenance of parks and gardens is essential, because for some months now the neighborhood has been in a state of neglect."

"The objectives of the association are the same as when it was founded," Montero said: "to improve the living conditions of the residents." The Titerroy neighborhood, formerly Santa Coloma, was one of the pioneers in having a neighborhood association. The original dates back to the early 1970s, and after a period of inactivity, the current Neighborhood Association was founded in 1987.

Ismael Montero has announced that in these two years he will try to "finalize the projects that were set at the beginning of the mandate, in 2006. I am aware that a president cannot be in a position for a long time because we become comfortable." And he adds that "being in a position just to be there" is not for him.

At the same time, he will continue to demand that the Arrecife City Council take the demands of the residents more seriously and reminds them that "Arrecife is all of us".
