As if it were the first time, young and old returned this Friday to surrender to the passage of Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar through the towns of Yaiza and Playa Blanca, provoking smiles, joys and illusions everywhere among the more than seven thousand spectators who crowded the streets of the southern magical route without distinction of age, culture or place of origin, a beautiful and massive integrating concentration animated by music groups, jugglers, stilt walkers and children's characters.
The sunset of the town of Yaiza welcomed the landing of their Majesties from the East on camelback with the impressive image of the Mountains of Fire. There the Kings made their first big stop in the south of Lanzarote to distribute sweets helped by the young retinue of royal pages.
The Municipal Band of Yaiza and the comparsa Los Yaiseros, who although dressed as Santa Claus already remember the imminent Carnival event, set the scene for the procession that toured the main street of the town to reach the Plaza de Los Remedios, a meeting place between children and Kings, where the former delivered their letters with requests for gifts and their Majesties gave cones with sweets, images of smiles and emotions captured by countless mobile phones.
The spell of the Three Wise Men then moved to the tourist town of Playa Blanca. Hundreds and hundreds of people on both sides of Calle Jaime Quesada and Avenida Papagayo cheered the great protagonists of the day.
The contagious music of the Villa Pipol batucada announced the proximity of the procession, while as in Yaiza the mobiles did not stop shooting. The public chanted the name of the Wise Man of their preference and although it was impossible to attend to everyone's call, a simple gesture of complicity, a greeting or the gift of sweets was enough to satisfy the illusion. The comparsa Los Yaiseros also demonstrated their good work playing and dancing in Playa Blanca.
The cavalcade strolled through the center of the town spurred by the euphoria of locals and strangers, however, the party would not end with the arrival of the Kings to the Plaza del Carmen. Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar showed off their infinite patience to please the requests for photographs of children and families who anxiously awaited their approach to the Kings to deliver letters and receive sweets. Minutes before, the public was surprised by a shower of fireworks that adorned the party even more.
The Yaiza City Council, through the Councilor for Festivities, Javier Camacho, thanks the collaboration and behavior of the public and the work of Civil Protection of Yaiza, Local Police of Yaiza, Firefighters of the Consortium and Emerlan, and that of all the characters and companions who made it possible for the municipality to enjoy a spectacular day of Kings parades.
