The color, rhythm and desire to enjoy of the little ones have returned to be present at the Arrecife Carnival. If on Wednesday there were more than 600 schoolchildren who participated in the school parade organized by the Department of Education of the capital's City Council, this Friday the vast majority of the municipality's educational centers have celebrated their own Carnival.
Some of them, such as the CEIP Capellanía del Yágabo, Nieves Toledo, Benito Méndez Tarajano, Argana Alta and La Destila have organized a parade with students from all courses through the streets surrounding their respective schools. Others, such as the CEO Argana and the CEIP Titerroy, Adolfo Topham, Los Geranios and Mercedes Medina have decided to celebrate it within the center.
The CEIP Antonio Zerolo, for its part, will take to the streets next Friday, March 3, on a route that will reach the Parque Islas Canarias.
The Councilor for Education of the Arrecife City Council, Ascensión Toledo, has congratulated both the students and the teachers for the work done in the classrooms to give life to each and every one of the designs. "The teachers spend weeks thinking about the costumes, designing them, cutting them, sewing them, gluing them... A task in which schoolchildren and their families are also involved and which must be valued and applauded as it deserves," she said.
Likewise, the councilor wants to thank the collaboration of the agents of the Local Police of Arrecife, Traffic personnel and members of Civil Protection, who have ensured the safety of the little ones and thanks to whom the different school routes have been able to develop without any type of mishap.
