The Technical Committee of Football Coaches of Las Palmas and its Delegation in Lanzarote celebrated the XXII Tribute Dinner to the Wife of the Lanzarote Coach on Saturday night, in the restaurant of the Castle of San José. With this act, according to the delegation, they intend to "thank the collaboration and complicity with which they face the time that the coaches dedicate to the sports tasks carried out in training and in the official matches of the current football league".
The event began at 9:00 p.m. with a welcome cocktail followed by the words of Gabriel González Hernández, delegate of the coaches in Lanzarote. Immediately afterwards, the restaurant professionals began to serve the menu to the diners. The presidential table was made up of the presidents, vice president, delegate, deputy director and head of studies of the coaching school, in addition to the representation of the Arrecife City Council, delegated to the councilors David Duarte, from the Festivals area, and Ascensión Toledo, from Education.
At dessert time, the presentation of the accreditation diplomas to the 39 new coaches corresponding to levels 1 and 2 took place. Subsequently, trophies were awarded to the coaches who had been champions of the season in the different categories. After the awards ceremony, the delegate of the School of Coaches, José León, made a brief review of the figure of Julián Medina Betancort, who recently passed away.
Immediately afterwards, the "XVI Julián Medina Betancort Trophy" was presented, which this year went to José Manuel Morant Varo. With the interventions of the management and political representatives and a wide raffle of gifts, the final point was put to a day where women were the true protagonists of the night.
