The management of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, on the occasion of the Christmas holidays, celebrated the "Carol Meeting" last Thursday night in the César Manrique hall. The meeting included the performance of the Choral Polyphonic of the Nautical Club of Arrecife, founded in 2018 by initiative of the president Julio Romero Ortega so that the club had its own vocal group that could sing in the events that are organized within the calendar of cultural activities.

The "Carol Meeting" began with the performance of the host choir, directed by Professor Beni Ferrer. The choristers performed a cappella the carols Dona Nobis Pacem, by the composer Mozart, followed by a German carol entitled, Oh Light of God and continuing with La Capa de San José and Ésta no es Noche Buena. The last two had arrangements made by the director Beni Ferrer herself.

Secondly, the Coral Polifónica Arrecife, directed by Professor Hernán Lorenzo, took part. This choir began its musical journey in 2007 with the interpretation of the Canarian Mass of Don Luis Prieto in the festivity of the celebration dedicated to San Ginés and where the teacher and musical director Braulio de León is remembered. It currently has 25 choristers divided into four lyrical voices and perform a repertoire of Christmas songs that, for this occasion, complemented with popular Canarian music. The choir was accompanied by the teacher José Artiles on the piano and performed very popular works of carols such as Adeste Fideles, Los Ángeles de la Gloria, NocheBuena en Canarias and White Christmas, among others. The "Carol Meeting" concluded finally with both choirs performing the well-known "Silent Night", which was also sung by the public, who gave them a resounding and prolonged applause.

The president of the Real Casino Club Náutico, Julio Romero Ortega, presented Hernán Lorenzo with a commemorative plaque in gratitude for his participation.
