Yaiza will honor its patron saint starting this Friday with celebrations that extend until Sunday, September 9. The Remedios festivities begin at the House of Culture with the opening speech by Francisco Padrón Viñas, a doctor who practiced in the south for many years, putting all his knowledge at the service of the citizens.
The inaugural day on Friday will continue with the opening of the Customs and Traditions exhibition and the Night of Dance and Merrymaking, featuring the Raíces, El Golpito, and El Geito groups, in the Plaza de Los Remedios.
The Yaiza Festival Commission and the Department of Festivities of the City Council propose a varied ten-day agenda to venerate the Virgin. The festival organization reminds that on Saturday, September 1, from 7:00 p.m., the pilgrimage in honor of Our Lady of Los Remedios will be celebrated, departing from the soccer field and arriving at the square to deliver the offerings to the holy patron saint.
Afterwards, the election of the adult and children's magas 2012 and the Baile del Romero will take place.
