Under the slogan "Not with our silence", the Lanzarote for Palestine collective has called a new rally to denounce the genocide of the populations of Gaza and the West Bank at the hands of the State of Israel. The mobilization will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 12:00 noon in front of the Casa Amarilla in Arrecife. In addition, the entity invites citizens to participate in a performance, for which the meeting will be on the esplanade of the Castillo de San Gabriel at 11:30 am.

In its call for participation for the peace, freedom and life of the Palestinian people, the convening entity expresses "the urgency of not looking the other way while a genocide is being perpetrated in broad daylight, which not only translates into the daily murder of hundreds of people, including more than 17,000 children, but also into the blockade of humanitarian aid (food, water, medicine) that is denied in the most cruel and inhumane action of the Zionist government of Israel".

Through a manifesto, which will be read during the rally, they denounce that "while the Palestinian people suffer an unprecedented humanitarian tragedy, the governments of the West - which should guarantee respect for international law and the defense of human rights - maintain a deafening silence. A silence that is not neutral: it is active complicity in the face of a process of ethnic cleansing, occupation and systematic violence that has already claimed more than 50,000 lives and has condemned entire generations to exile, trauma and dispossession".

And they add: "The crimes committed by the State of Israel against the Palestinian civilian population cannot continue to be ignored, minimized or justified under the pretext of security. That is why we are taking to the streets again and raising our voices. Because to remain silent in the face of the suffering of a people is to allow it to continue. Because it is not enough to be outraged: we must act, point out those responsible and demand justice".
