The auditorium of Jameos del Agua dressed up to present the awards of the XV Lanzarote International Film Festival on a night full of telluric atmosphere during the gala directed by Esteban Cedrés. The jury awarded the Swedish Out of this world (Viktor Nordenskiöld) as the best documentary short, while the award for best animated short went to the German Roadtrip (Xaver Xylophon). The Spanish Fieras (Luis E. Pérez) and the Lithuanian Anglijos Karalienė pagrobė mano tevús (Ernestas Jankauskas) were distinguished as the best national and international fiction short, respectively.
For its part, the public opted for the Spanish El último abrazo (Sergi Pitarch) as the best documentary short and the Belgian A dog's life (Pieter Vandenabeele) as the best animated short. The award for best national fiction short went to Bikini (Óscar Bernácer) and in the international fiction section the chosen one was the Canadian Pour Retourner (Scooter Corkle).
