The Farmer's Monument premiered this Sunday, May 30, the Canary Products Market, coinciding with Canary Islands Day. Visitors were able to purchase jareas and bottled limpets, originally from La Graciosa, wines from La Geria (Rubicón and Femés), cheeses and homemade sweets, artisan liqueurs, jams, mojos and pastries from Uga and San Bartolomé, among many other products originating from the archipelago.
The initiative, which took place during Sunday, May 30, and Monday, May 31, was well received by the hundreds of visitors who came to Mozaga. In addition, there were exhibitions of Canarian wrestling and shepherd's jump, among other native sports.
The second vice-president of the Cabildo and managing director of the Tourist Centers, Ástrid Pérez, was pleased that "the families of the island and tourists could have a new alternative for these holidays, coinciding with the Day of the Canary Islands".
For the occasion, the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo of Lanzarote selected a Canarian gastronomic menu, which included a first course, a sancocho and homemade desserts, for a price of 14.95 euros.
During this month of May, this center, integrated into the network of Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, has organized other initiatives that have been visited by numerous public, such as the Market of Flowers and Plants, at the beginning of May; and the Day of the Field, celebrated on May 15, coinciding with the festivity of San Isidro Labrador, patron saint of farmers and farmers.
