The musician from Gran Canaria, Carlos Oramas, offered the concert "The Grandparents of the Timple" on Friday, at the Casa-Museo del Timple, in Teguise. Oramas divided the act into three parts and introduced the public with his music to the Renaissance and the Baroque.
Oramas began the concert with the instrument vihuela, with which he performed compositions by Luys de Narváez, Alonso Mudarra and Luis Mylán, such as "Songs of the Emperor or Conde Claros". In the second part, the musician played the theorbo, for which he chose the compositions of G.H. Kapsberger.
The last part was dedicated to the baroque guitar, with which he performed Francisco Guerau and Gaspar Sanz. The audience standing up thanked the more than 60 minutes of music that Carlos Oramas chose for his first concert at the Casa-Museo del Timple.
The musician from Gran Canaria discovered his interest in music through folklore and studied at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, at the Royal Higher Conservatory of Music of Madrid and at the Conservatory of Luxembourg. He has been awarded in different competitions such as Andrés Segovia, Musical Youth of Spain or the Extraordinary End of Career Award.
