The edition of the Canary Islands Audiovisual Writing Laboratory (LEAC) is taking place these days, for the first time, in Lanzarote. In this second edition, the projects and screenwriters that have been selected to analyze and learn from are: "The Gift" by David Cánovas and José Amaro; "Zoo Station" by Antonio Herrera; "What do you remember about Grandpa Dad?" by Amaury Santana Marrero; "OUT" by María Sanz Esteve; "Longina" by Pedro Rodríguez Carballido; "Inánima" by Juan Francisco Padrón and Aitor Guezuraga; "Francisco, my love" by Jorgelina Rodríguez and "Estación Andamana" by Sergio Morales and Manuel Vidal.
Two conferences open to the public
Along with the project coordinators, Andrés Koppel and Rolando Díaz, Ana Sanz-Magallón and Joan Álvarez will participate as tutors, who will be in charge of offering two conferences open to the general public. The first of these, "Reclaiming the screenwriter as narrator" is given by Álvarez, and Sanz-Magallón will star in the second, "What does it mean to improve a script". Both will take place in the CICCA Hall in Arrecife (El Puente Street, 1) starting at 8:00 p.m. on October 15 and 16, respectively.
The main objective of the Canary Islands Audiovisual Writing Laboratory is to perfect the level of scripts written in the Canary Islands, so that they can compete in any audiovisual market in the world, in addition to providing the screenwriter, not only with the necessary training to develop a professional script, but with a new set of tools to help them write.
