As every year at this time, the Cabildo of Lanzarote has decorated its main entrance with the placement of a six-meter-high Christmas tree, adorned with LED lights, and a handmade Nativity scene that recreates different emblematic buildings of the island of volcanoes.

The island's president, María Dolores Corujo, is confident that “next year 2021 will finally be the beginning of the recovery in all areas and that the control of the pandemic will allow the progressive reactivation of many of the sectors that have especially suffered the consequences of the harsh social and economic crisis that we are experiencing.”

Corujo has also appealed to individual and collective responsibility, “so that this Christmas we do not have to regret new infections and we all respect the security and prevention measures established by the health authorities.”
