Lanzarote will be the headquarters for the signing of the agreement between the members of the Spanish Association of Gastronomic Destinations, a non-profit association that has the support of the Secretary of State for Tourism and Commerce, and which will be founded by seven destinations: Lleida, San Sebastián, Santiago de Compostela, Valladolid, Gijón, Cambrils and Lanzarote.
The main objective of the constitution of this association is to generate a category of gastronomic product at a national level, to favor the promotion and commercialization of gastronomic tourism in Spain and abroad, and to coordinate activities for the benefit of all member destinations. All this, guaranteeing the quality of the product offered.
A gastronomic destination is a tourist and recreational space that allows you to discover, enjoy and understand the gastronomic culture in its broadest sense. Gastronomic tourism is one of the products with the best international image and with great potential to improve its competitiveness. In this sense, the definition and development of a Product Club at a national level with an international vocation is proposed as an initiative that will promote the creation of tourist experiences around Spanish gastronomic culture.
