The Arrecife City Council is proceeding to close all municipal facilities, given the communication from the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands based on the AEMET forecast, which declares an alert for rain and in accordance with the recommendations of the Lanzarote Island Council.
In this way, any extracurricular and/or complementary activity is canceled while the alert situation remains.
Likewise, all sports facilities, socio-cultural centers, the Civic Center, exhibition halls, the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture and the Youth Center will remain closed.
It should be remembered that the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated the yellow warning for rain in Lanzarote for today, Thursday, when it foresees that rainfall of up to 20 liters per hour and 50 liters in 12 hours may be recorded.
The warning was activated from early Wednesday to Thursday and will remain until 00:00 hours on Friday.
The Arrecife City Council recommends caution to citizens and to call 112 in case of any emergency.
