Surrounded by her large family, friends and neighbors of the municipality of Tías, Teresita Betancort Ramos, offered on Thursday night the proclamation of the patron saint festivities of La Asomada in honor of San José Obrero. Always with a beautiful smile, Teresita read her proclamation full of memories of her life and anecdotes with her brothers and sisters. During her speech, not only was her good sense of humor evident, but also her dedication and love for her family and her town.
"La Asomada is a rose, which goes in my chest attached, do not tell me to forget it because my life ends", Teresita recited among numerous applause. After the reading of the proclamation that took place in the teleclub of La Asomada, the neighbors could enjoy the musical show "Timplefonías".
The big days of the festivities of La Asomada will be lived this weekend with the tenth edition of the Folkloric Encounter Montaña Gaida that is celebrated this Saturday, April 30 at 21:00 hours with the performances of the Folkloric Group Rubicón and the musical group "Guágaro".
Coinciding with the festivity of San José Obrero, on Sunday, May 1, from 6:30 in the morning, the Diana Floreada is celebrated, organized by the Charanga "Los Gruñones".
At 12:30 hours will take place the religious function and procession in honor of San José Obrero accompanied by the Cultural Artistic Group of Tías (Acuarti) and the Folkloric Group "Gaida". After the performance of the playback of the young people of the town will be held the popular barbecue at 20:00 hours and, subsequently, will be awarded the trophies of the different championships held as the envite, canarian ball, round or chinchón.
The performance of the lanzaroteño humorist Kike Pérez and the dance of parrandas with El Golpito and Pal´Porrón will put the finishing touch to Sunday.
From the Department of Festivities of the City Council of Tías encourage all neighbors to participate in these festivities, while thanking the Festival Committee of La Asomada 2016 for the work and involvement to develop a comprehensive program of events aimed at all audiences.
