Last Friday night, the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, together with the Councilor for Culture and Festivals, Olivia Duque, and other councilors from the government group, proceeded to inaugurate the traditional Nativity Scene installed in Camilo José Cela Square.

The mayor addressed all those present, thanking them for their presence at the event so that they could enjoy an authentic work of art created by the resident of Haría, Alex Dorta, a graduate in Fine Arts. Dorta has been working for three weeks with great care and professionalism, giving shape to everything he had previously designed.

Visitors will be able to enjoy some of the natural landscapes that Teguise has, such as the Guanapay mountain crowned by the castle that bears its name, also known as Santa Bárbara, the cliff with the endless Famara beach, the Guatiza salt flats, the Gavias or Terraces where the farmer deposits the seed to obtain the harvest. A very striking part of the Nativity Scene is undoubtedly where the architectural richness of the Historic Site of Teguise is reflected and where Alex Dorta has managed to ensure that each of the properties that form it can be seen from a panoramic view with great detail.

After the speeches by Oswaldo Betancort and Alex Dorta, the members of the La Gran Aldea Folk Group of Teguise performed several Christmas carols that were widely applauded. Then, to ward off the prevailing cold, the management of the La Tahona Bar Restaurant offered a good glass of hot chocolate with milk and the City Council offered the typical homemade sweet potato pastries. The Councilor for Culture and Festivities, Olivia Duque, made a call "to all those who wish to also visit the House of Culture of Teguise next to the church where they can also visit the Nativity Scene that has been prepared by the Culture staff".
