The Teguise City Council celebrated Canary Islands Day with a big stall in front of the Santo Domingo convent. The event began at twelve noon with a performance by the Teseguite town band. As soon as the cheerful notes were heard, the public approached and occupied the tables and chairs while tasting Canarian products such as freshly kneaded gofio, cheese, wrinkled potatoes, mojo picón, and the rich Lanzarote wine.

The bands from the town of Los Valles, of which the current mayor Juan Pedro Hernández is a member, also participated. Little by little, people were encouraged and went out to dance and enjoy the wide and varied repertoire that they continued to offer. Another of the bands that was part of this event was "La Pichona" from the town of Mozaga.

In the final stretch, it was the turn of the El Golpito band. Well past two in the afternoon, the public resisted leaving the party and asked for another and another song.

This event was organized by the culture department, which is directed by Oswaldo Betancort, and thanks to the staff, everything went ahead with the effort and work of everyone.
