Several locations still without water and Canal will "rationalize" the supply until reserves are recovered

The company states that the restrictions may last "several days." "Even if the supply is opened at certain hours, it is likely that they will be closed again at some times of the day, such as at night."

Water desalination plants managed by Canal Gestión

Several towns on the island are still without water at noon this Thursday, despite Canal Gestión stating that all treatment plants are now producing "with some normality."

In Haría and Teguise, almost half of the towns are without supply, including the capitals; while Tinajo, according to the company, only has the Mancha Blanca supply normalized. The rest of the municipality is with "partial supply" or without supply.

Regarding Arrecife, Tías and San Bartolomé, Canal states that only Montaña Blanca continues without supply. However, in Tías town and Playa Honda it indicates that they are already receiving water, although there may still be "certain limitations or anomalies". Finally, Yaiza is the only municipality where there is supply in all its towns.

"The service is being restored progressively but slowly, given the need to recover the levels that the regulating tanks must have for the system to function at the desired rate," the company states in a new statement. Therefore, it states that it is carrying out "control and rationalization maneuvers of the supply."

"Although the supply is opened in different locations at certain hours, it is likely that at some times of the day, such as at night, they will be closed again to allow the tanks to be filled and thus, little by little, the service will be restored normally," it warns. In addition, it anticipates that this situation "may last several days."

The power outage that stopped the treatment plants lasted less than an hour, but that same afternoon Canal already assured that the water reserves had been at "very low" levels.

To this it added that one of them was still not working on the morning of this Thursday, due to a failure in the engine, but now it points out that they are all in operation, "although technical difficulties continue to be recorded."
